Pure Brine Shrimp, Nothing Else
Our Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp Cubes contain just one ingredient — freeze dried brine shrimp pressed into a convenient, buoyant, and water stable cube. No additives, no preservatives, nothing artificial. Just pure brine shrimp delivering 53.3% protein, natural enzymes, natural beta-carotenes for color enhancement, and chitin from the shrimp exoskeleton which acts as a natural fiber source to support healthy digestion. Highly digestible and a high quality replacement for live feeds, these cubes are a universally loved treat that virtually every freshwater and saltwater fish will eagerly respond to.
Who Are They For? Freeze dried brine shrimp are one of the most widely accepted foods in the aquarium hobby, making them an excellent choice for an enormous range of species including bettas, cichlids, discus, angelfish, gouramis, livebearers, tetras, barbs, loaches, frogs, koi, and countless others. An excellent conditioning food for breeding pairs and a great way to entice finicky or newly acquired fish to start feeding.
Cubes and Siftings Our brine shrimp are available in two forms. Whole cubes are ideal for medium and large fish that can handle a full sized cube. Siftings are the smaller pieces and fine particles left behind during packaging, making them perfect for nano fish, fry, and small species. Siftings also work beautifully mixed into homemade gel foods or other prepared foods to boost protein content and palatability. Siftings are available in limited quantities so check back periodically if your preferred size is not currently in stock.
How to Feed Drop a cube directly into the aquarium and allow fish to pick at it as it rehydrates, or pre-soak in a small amount of tank water for a few minutes before feeding for better digestibility. For an added health boost try soaking in a small amount of garlic juice before feeding to help support immune function and entice even the pickiest eaters. The cube can also be pressed gently against the aquarium glass below the waterline for fish to graze on at their own pace.
For smaller fish or fry, break or crumble the cube into appropriately sized pieces before feeding. Feed only what can be consumed within a few minutes and remove any uneaten portions promptly as brine shrimp can foul water quickly if left to decompose.
Feed as a treat alongside a balanced staple diet rather than as a primary food source, offering one to two times per week for most species.
Storage Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the mylar bag tightly after each use to maintain freshness and prevent moisture from entering.
