Livebearers, cichlids, tetras, rainbowfish, nano fish, frogs, axolotls, and countless other omnivorous species all benefit from the rich blend of insect protein and vegetable ingredients. Even herbivores needing an occasional protein boost will find it appealing. The only species it is not suited for are true carnivores requiring a high protein diet.

How to Prepare Beardie Buffet forms a firm, sliceable gel that can be cut into cubes, long strips, or served as a whole slab depending on the size and feeding style of your animals.

Ratio is one part powder to two to three parts water, using 1/4 cup powder to 1/2 to 3/4 cup water as a starting point. Adjust water quantity to achieve your preferred gel firmness.

Microwave method: Measure water into a heat safe container. Heat until water begins to boil. Add powder and mix well. Let sit at room temperature until gelled, approximately 2 hours.

Stovetop method: Bring water to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat. Add powder and mix well. Immediately pour into a storage container or mold and let sit at room temperature until firm.

Storage Once prepared, treat the gel as fresh food. Store sealed in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to six months. Store unused powder at room temperature in a cool dry location away from moisture.
