Description

The Ultimate High Protein Treat for Fish and Aquatic Life

Our Freeze Dried Bloodworms are one of the most universally accepted foods in the aquarium hobby. Virtually every freshwater and saltwater species that consumes meaty foods will eagerly respond to bloodworms, making them an excellent choice for enticing finicky eaters, conditioning fish for breeding, and adding variety to any diet. Packed with protein, essential amino acids, and vitamins including B12 and E, bloodworms support healthy growth, vibrant coloration, and strong immune function.

Who Are They For? Freeze dried bloodworms are suitable for a wide range of freshwater and saltwater species including cichlids, discus, angelfish, bettas, gouramis, livebearers, tetras, barbs, killifish, loaches, frogs, and many more. A great conditioning food for breeding pairs and an excellent treat for species that need encouragement to accept prepared foods.

Whole Bloodworms and Siftings Our bloodworms are available in two forms. Whole bloodworms are ideal for medium and large fish that can handle a full sized worm. Siftings are the smaller pieces and fine particles left behind after sifting the whole worms, making them perfect for nano fish, fry, and small species that cannot manage a full sized worm. Siftings also work beautifully mixed into homemade gel foods or other prepared foods to boost protein content and palatability.

Important Feeding Tips Always pre-soak freeze dried bloodworms in a small amount of tank water for a few minutes before feeding. This rehydrates the worms, improves digestibility, and helps prevent the bloating and constipation that can occur when dry bloodworms rehydrate inside the fish. For an added health boost, try soaking in a small amount of garlic juice before feeding to help support immune function and entice even the pickiest eaters.

Feed as a treat rather than a staple food, offering only what can be consumed within a few minutes. One to two feedings per week alongside a balanced diet is recommended for most species. Remove any uneaten portions promptly to maintain water quality.

A Note on Allergies Some people develop allergic reactions to freeze dried bloodworms including eye and throat irritation. If you experience any sensitivity when handling this product, consider using feeding tongs or gloves and avoid inhaling any dust when opening the bag.

Storage Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the mylar bag tightly after each use to maintain freshness and prevent moisture from entering.
