The Breeder’s Secret Weapon
Repashy Spawn and Grow is a high protein, high fat conditioning and growth formula specifically developed for insectivorous and carnivorous freshwater fish during periods of elevated nutritional demand. Whether conditioning breeding pairs before spawning, raising fry during their critical early growth stages, or bringing malnourished or newly imported fish back to full health, Spawn and Grow delivers the concentrated nutrition that normal staple foods simply cannot provide. Having used this formula personally to condition angelfish breeding pairs, we can attest to the difference it makes. Strong, well conditioned adults produce stronger, more viable fry, and Spawn and Grow is a key part of achieving that.
Why Spawn and Grow Works At over 45% protein and 14% fat, this formula delivers the concentrated energy reserves fish need to build condition for spawning and support rapid fry growth. The formula also contains Arachidonic Acid, which has been shown to increase spawning success, alongside a balanced EPA to DHA ratio to support reproductive health. Vitamin C content is doubled compared to standard Repashy formulas, using the highly stable Ascorbic Acid Phosphate form, and high levels of phospholipid lecithin aid fat absorption throughout the body.
Who Are They For? Spawn and Grow is an excellent conditioning food for angelfish, apistogrammas, livebearers, bettas, corydoras, rainbowfish, gouramis, barbs, and virtually any insectivorous or carnivorous freshwater species. It is also the go to formula for recovering malnourished or freshly imported fish that need to rebuild condition quickly. Not recommended for strict herbivores due to the high fat and protein content.
Feeding Fry For smaller fry that cannot manage gel pieces, sprinkle a small pinch of dry powder directly across the water surface. Start with a very small amount and adjust based on consumption to avoid polluting the water.
Two Ways to Serve
As a Gel: The standard preparation method. Mix powder with water, allow to set, then cut into cubes, shred, or serve as a whole slab. Treat the finished gel as fresh food and store sealed in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to six months.
As a Jerky: Prepare the gel as normal, pour into a deep container, slice into quarter inch thick pieces, and dry completely in an oven or dehydrator at 150 degrees F for 8 to 12 hours.
How to Prepare the Gel Ratio is one part powder to three parts water, using 1/4 cup powder to 3/4 cup water as a starting point. Adjust water quantity to achieve your preferred firmness.
Microwave method: Measure water into a heat safe container. Heat until water begins to boil. Add powder and mix well. Let sit at room temperature until gelled, approximately 2 hours.
Stovetop method: Bring water to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat. Add powder and mix well. Immediately pour into a storage container or mold and let sit at room temperature until firm.
Storage Store unused powder at room temperature in a cool dry location away from moisture. Refrigerate any prepared gel and use within two weeks, or freeze for up to six months.
Guaranteed Analysis: Crude Protein 45% min, Crude Fat 14% min, Crude Fiber 5% max, Moisture 8% max, Ash 7% max
